What Is Life Really Like In Iceland

What Is Life Really Like In Iceland

How Powerful Are The Nordic Countries?

Despite harsh winters and economic decline, Iceland ranked third on the UN's 2016 World Happiness Report. So what makes Icelanders so happy?

What Is Life Really Like In Iceland

That rank is proportional to its small population. If iceland had its suicide counted by the number of suicides, then then it would be a nation with on of the least number of suicides
Romania is about 90% orthodox, although it ranks somewhere at the bottom. The problem here is not the muslims, but the gypsies. We feel ashemed to travel in Europe because the media created a bad image about Romania. Everyone who know elementary history understands that gypsies are not romanians at origins and they are coming from Pakistan and India. The use their own language, flag, customs and so on. They reached the south-eastern Europe in 12th-14th century and by that time Romania was divided in 3 pricipalities: Wallachia, Moldavia and Transylvania.

Iceland’s main ring road strings together an endless series of epic landscapes. Less than two hours drive east of Reykjavik are two of the world’s most beautiful waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Continue eastward towards Vík, Iceland’s southern-most village, where you’ll find the dramatic landscapes of Black Beach, Reynisdrangar, and Dyrholaey. Follow the ring road for another two hours into the ethereal light of Jökulsárlón Lake, اذان شيعي where icebergs break away from Europe’s largest glacier and float for years before tumbling out to sea.

Head north and feel the earth rumble at Europe’s mightiest waterfall, Dettifoss. Then explore the Myvatn region, a tranquil lake surrounded by nature in all its violent beauty. Take a careful walk through the boiling landscape of Namafjall, lose yourself amid the lava pillars of Dimmuborgir, and peer into the caldera of Krafla Volcano.

Known as the Capital of the North, Akureyri is the perfect place to warm up and enjoy some creature comforts, before heading off into the wilds again. In Iceland, every side road is a story waiting to unfold. So come, and live your own Icelandic story, it’s one you’ll keep telling for the rest of your days.

Iceland is a mountainous island nation in the north Atlantic Ocean, located between Europe and North America. Though not part of the continental mainland, the country is considered Nordic European. The name of the country—Iceland—may not be that appropriate: although 10% of Iceland is covered by glaciers, it has a surprisingly mild climate and countless geothermal hot-spots. The native spelling ("Ísland") is appropriate in English as well.

Iceland Tour Guide

See in Iceland
============ The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa and the most famous sight in Iceland. The Gullfoss waterfall is quite spectacular. Geysir, the namesake of all geysers, and its neighbour Strokkur which erupts every five minutes or so. Þingvellir National Park, a beautiful landscape of water-cut lava fields, which is historically important as the site of Iceland's parliament from 930 AD. Vatnajökull glacier is in Southeast Iceland and is Europe's largest glacier. Jökulsárlón, the largest glacier lake in Iceland, is located off Route 1 and part of Vatnajökull glacier. In the colder months, one may frequently get stunning views of the Aurora Borealis, a.k.a. Northern Lights[33] anywhere away from city lights.

Do in Iceland
============ Iceland offers many hiking opportunities. Hiking in Iceland is no easy business, strong walking boots which support your ankles are recommended as the terrain is usually craggy lava rock or springy moss with hidden holes! Likewise, you'll need to be prepared for strong bursts of sideways rain and sleet, especially in winter and shoulder seasons, and particularly in the mountains. Don't stray into unknown terrain without proper equipment, read up more on hiking in Iceland. Iceland is not well known for skiing or big ski areas but the town of Akureyri in the north has a great little ski area and the mountains of the Troll Peninsula offer world class terrain for ski touring, ski mountaineering and heli skiing. Ice climbing is great with world class frozen waterfalls and plenty of glaciers. Glacier hiking is one of Iceland´s most popular tourist things to do with the area of Skaftafell in the SE being the center of activity. Whale watching available all year from Reykjavik and during the summer from Husavik, but sightings are most common in summer in either place. There are some good opportunities to go mobiling and this can provide access to otherwise inaccessable areas. Whitewater rafting is popular. In south you can raft on the big Hvita river. North Iceland has some of the best rivers for rafting, Vestari and Austari Jokulsa. The companies offering rafting are located in Varmahlid. One of them is Bakkaflot with really good facilities (hot pools, accommodation restaurant & drinks) to use after your adventure.

In more "bad things happening to England" news, their soccer team was defeated by Iceland in the Euro Cup tournament. Also, we called it "soccer" instead of football.

Soccer is the correct term. Football is a collective term for ball games played with the foot. There are a lot of reasons why we say football in the UK, but it does actually make more sense to say soccer.
